Beautiful and sunny so off to the beach.
It was 6 c at 9 am when we left Montpellier but we didn't let that put us off..
We had to take a tram to get out of the city and then a short bus ride to get to the beach at Palavas les Flots.
Didn't quite go to plan as the tram hit a car. Very little damage but it took about 20 mins while they exchanged details !!
So we missed the connecting bus .
Our only choice was to wait 2 hrs for a bus or walk .
We walked and it was amazing.
We passed a canal connected to the Canal du midi.
Brought back memories. A bit windy.
Then we reached the beach .
Looking towards Palavas les Flots.
I couldn't resist a paddle. It was getting quite warm walking along the beach.
We finally arrived . It took about 2 hrs.
A nice salad by the canal.
There was an observation tower which gave a fantastic view over Palavas .
Views in the town.
Then off home . No problems with cars, trams or buses.
Then we explored some more of Montpellier before dinner. It was much busier tonight.
We found the medical school which is one of the oldest medical schools in the western world . Founded in the 12 th century.
Attached is a huge Cathedral with a huge entrance .
Then dinner at an lovely restaurant .
I had the most amazing lamb shank and vegetables ..
And Chris had risotto
Very nice, on of the best meals yet.
